Questions remain over where Sarah Ferguson will live after her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten Windsor was effectively evicted from Royal Lodge, where the former couple had been living together for the past 20 years.
While Ferguson, who until late October was known as the Duchess of York, has been given the green light to continue to live with Andrew in his new property, if she chooses, her decision about her future remains unknown.
Now, a royal insider has weighed into rumours about what the former duchess will do next, including speculation she is to write a Prince Harry Spare-style tell-all book.

“Both Andrew and Fergie seem to be trapped in a never-ending cycle of chasing wealth, no matter who their quarry is or what morals they hold,” Jennie Bond, former BBC royal correspondent, told The Mirror.
Weeks before King Charles formally stripped his brother of all his royal titles, and began the process of his removal from Royal Lodge, Ferguson had come under fire for her past relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In September, Ferguson was dropped from multiple charities after it emerged she had described the late convicted sex offender a “supreme friend” in an email sent in 2011.

“I know you feel hellaciously let down by me from what you were either told or read and I must humbly apologise to you and your heart for that,” she wrote.
A spokesperson for Ferguson later said she was simply following advice to distance herself from Epstein.
She had apologised to Epstein, the spokesperson said, because he “threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him with paedophilia”.
Months before that email was sent to Epstein, Ferguson had told a UK newspaper she had made a “terrible, terrible error of judgment” in being friends with Epstein and accepting his money to pay off her debts.
Following the King’s swift action towards Andrew, Fergie’s publishing career appears all but over with her latest children’s book now shelved.
The 66-year-old, who has dozens of children’s books under her belt, including the popular series Budgie the Little Helicopter, Little Red and Helping Hands, also had a raft of meet and greets also cancelled.

The move has raised questions of how Fergie will earn a living. Andrew’s lifestyle will be funded from the King’s private income and he’ll soon move into a property at Sandringham.
Ferguson is not believed to be joining Andrew in Norfolk, making it the first time in two decades that they will be living apart.
Bond said: “Surely the time has come for them to cut their cloth to suit the money they have, and to live a quiet life without causing further embarrassment to themselves and to the family at large”.
But, she added: “there is no telling what Sarah will do next”.

“She has written her side of the story before, and she has clawed her way back from the depths of humiliation and despair.
“This time, however, I cannot see a way back for her.”
However author Andrew Lownie, who wrote Entitled – which marked the beginning of the end for Andrew and Ferguson – suggested it wasn’t completely over for the former duchess.

“The royals take the view, ‘never explain, never complain’, and hope that the problem goes away with some new crisis, nothing changes,” Lownie said in London to Foreign Press Association journalists recently.
“And I suspect that will be the same with Fergie now, that she will just go on and confesses her sins, the Americans will think she’s wonderful and a poor victim, and she’ll be back grifting away within six months.”
