West Australian police have confirmed a woman in her 20s has died after being attacked by a dog in the state’s north over the weekend.

The attack happened in Fitzroy Crossing, about 2,400 kilometres north of Perth, about midday on Sunday, November 30.

In a statement, a WA Police spokesperson said the woman was found deceased at the scene when officers arrived.

The spokesperson said a man, aged in his 20s, was also injured.

“A man in his 20s was conveyed to Fitzroy Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” the statement read.

Local rangers from the Shire of Derby-West Kimberley removed two dogs.

Inquiries are continuing.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
