Racing SA is expanding its use of an advanced timing and tracking technology across its race meetings.

The move will incorporate Balaklava and Strathalbyn meetings into the world-class SMART tracking system from tripleSdata, enabling real-time positioning of each horse together with detailed individual sectional times and stride data.

It’s a technology that delivers comprehensive runner-by-runner analytics post-race, offering trainers, owners, punters and broadcasters richer performance insight.

In addition to the major racing centres of Morphettville, Murray Bridge, and Gawler, individual timing and tracking data for each horse will now be generated at 95 per cent of race meetings at metropolitan and inner provincial racing centres in South Australia.

According to Racing SA, the enhanced data will elevate broadcast presentation and improve performance transparency and integrity within the sport.

Racing SA says the upgrade reflects its ongoing commitment to modernising race infrastructure and delivering value to all stakeholders.

“The data obtained is provided on Racing SA’s website and is a valued tool for punters and participants, which all helps in driving wagering turnover on SA racing,” Racing SA chief executive Nick Bawden said.
