Tammy and Amy Slaton continue to navigate a sibling rift in the new season of TLC’s “1000-Lb. Sisters.”

On Tuesday, Dec. 2, the network released the official trailer for season 8 and the sisters don’t appear to be as close as they once were.
“It feels like we’re drifting apart,” Tammy says in a confessional about her sister Amy. “She used to be my best friend.”
Apparently, Tammy and Amy had a “big blowout” and are going through life in different directions and aren’t playing nice in the trailer. Tammy called Amy a “deadbeat mom” to sons Gage, 4, and Glenn, 3 — which would explain why she’s likely fed up with the relationship.
“I can’t handle her toxic ass no more,” Amy says while tearing up. “I’m done.”
Despite the drama, the sisters are still adjusting to life after getting engaged and having weight loss surgery. Tammy discusses life after her 500-lb. weight loss and skin removal surgery, saying, “Everything about me is smaller.” Plus, she’s opening up about her love life.

Back in June, Tammy revealed she got engaged to Andrea Dalton, just two months after going public. Prior to her new fiancée Andrea, Tammy was married to Caleb Willingham before he died in 2023.
Meanwhile, cameras follow Amy as she plans her wedding day – going dress shopping and picking out the venue – without her sister’s help.
“The wedding is in like 6 months,” she says. “It’s really important for the venue to be haunted because that’s the symbol of our love.”
In true Amy fashion, she married her now-husband Brian Lovvorn on Halloween but based on the trailer Tammy doesn’t seem to play a major role in her big day.
“My family, they don’t want nothing to do with itand neither does ‘Queen Tammy,’” Amy said in a confessional. Older sisters Misty and Amanda discuss the rift between the siblings, expressing their genuine shock that Amy didn’t ask Tammy to be her maid of honor.
The season eight premiere of “1000-Lb. Sisters” airs Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 9 pm ET/PT.
