Perth plane spotters and Formula 1 fans alike were given a glimpse of Qatar Airways’ F1 livery plane when it touched down in Perth yesterday (December 2, 2025).

Scheduled for a 6.45pm arrival, the Boeing 777 plane was designed by Grammy award-winning American DJ, record producer and rapper Swizz Beatz and features a specially-made black and burgundy livery.

It was only unveiled at last weekend’s Qatar Grand Prix. Before last Saturday’s Sprint race, the plane did a flypast over the Lusail International Circuit. The new livery was then officially unveiled at the Qatar Airways Hangar, with comedian Kevin Hart appearing to be an F1 driver doing celebratory “doughnuts”.

The launch event was attended by Swizz Beatz, David Beckham, Jessica Alba, Rio Ferdinand, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Novak Djokovic.

Soon after, the 777 was off to work, and soon heading for Perth. But its appearance here be short lived, with a 10.45pm scheduled departure time.

“At Qatar Airways, creativity fuels everything we do. As the World’s Best Airline, creativity shapes how we innovate, connect cultures, and reimagine the experience of travel. Our partnership with Swizz Beatz reflects that same spirit – a shared belief that creativity has the power to inspire, to unite, and to transform the way the world connects,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.

Qatar Airways confirmed an additional livery to commemorate the airline’s partnership with The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is set to be revealed next year.
