TWO-TIME Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison will swap Ford teams for his move into life as a Supercars co-driver.

The now ex-Shell V-Power Racing pilot has signed to drive with Penrite Racing in next year’s Supercars endurance races, the AirTouch 500 at The Bend and Repco Bathurst 1000.

Davison will keep his Ford connection and drive one of the team’s Mustangs with either Matt Payne or Kai Allen.

Davison made his final full-time start in Adelaide after Dick Johnson Racing elected to cut his tenure short and replace him with now-Dunlop Super2 Series winner Rylan Gray for 2026.

“I am absolutely delighted to join the team at Grove Racing in this next phase and chapter of my career,” said Davison.

“I have been admiring the progression of this team from afar over the last few years and it’s clear they mean business, which was proven by their success throughout this season, at Bathurst and during their finals campaign.

“Thanks to Brenton and Stephen Grove and Garth Tander for making this happen. I love their vision and I am excited to be part of that journey going forwards.

“I can’t wait to get to work with Matt and Kai and two engineers I enjoyed great success with in the past, Grant McPherson and Al McVean.”

Joining the Grove-owned team will reunite Davison with two of his former race-winning engineers as well as a former sponsor in Penrite, who backed his Erebus Mercedes for a time during his last year with the team in 2015.

Alistair McVean, the team’s new Head of Performance that race engineered Allen during this season, race engineered Davison during his ultra-successful debut year with the Holden Racing Team in 2009.

The duo combined with Garth Tander (now Grove Racing Team & Driver Advisor) to win the endurance double that year at Phillip Island and Bathurst and help HRT win the Team’s Championship as well that season.

Davison will effectively replace his former HRT partner Tander at Grove Racing after the latter made the decision to call time last month on his professional driving career after winning his sixth Bathurst 1000.

Grove Racing Technical Director Grant McPherson and Davison worked together at Ford Performance Racing, proving to also be a race-winning combination. They won eight races in partnership in the 2012 season and two more in 2013.

Two-time Bathurst 1000 winner Davison joins Tim Slade on the Penrite/Grove Racing roster for next year’s enduros.

Slade’s deal was announced late last month at Sandown and he had his first drive of one of the team’s Mustangs at the post-round ride day at the Melbourne circuit.
