Fremantle have confirmed jumper numbers for the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season and the future of the numbers of two Club legends.

The iconic number seven guernsey worn by dual Brownlow Medallist and former captain Nat Fyfe will be retired for the 2026 season, while Michael Walters has passed his famous number 10 jumper to close friend Shai Bolton.

Fremantle have also confirmed new numbers for recruits ahead of the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

With Judd McVee, Mason Cox, Adam Sweid, Tobyn Murray, Ryda Luke, Leon Kickett and Toby Whan joining the Club via the Trade, Draft and SSP periods, seven new numbers and lockers have been allocated.

10 – Shai Bolton

Following his first season at Fremantle, where he wore number 15, Bolton has gladly accepted the honour of wearing the number 10, formerly held by Club legend and close friend Michael Walters. Walters ended his illustrious career with Fremantle at the conclusion of the 2025 season, playing 239 games and kicking 365 goals.

Walters describing the meaning of passing on his iconic number to a great mate and fellow Indigenous player as a privilege.

“It’s such a proud moment for me to hand over my old number to someone of Shai’s ilk,” Walters said.

“He’s a human highlight reel, he puts bums on seats, and I can’t wait to be one of them at Optus Stadium enjoying the number 10 running around for many, many more years to come.”

Fremantle’s first selection with pick No.25 in the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft, Sweid has taken over Bolton’s previous number 15. Sweid becomes the sixth player to represent number 15 in Fremantle history.

18 – Mason Cox

Cox joined Fremantle on the first day of the Supplemental Selection Period and will wear the number 18 jumper for the 2026 season. The number was worn by All Australian defender Luke McPharlin 233 times between 2003 and 2015.

11 – Tobyn Murray

The Club’s second selection of the National Draft with pick No.40, Tobyn Murray has been assigned number 11, most recently worn by retiree James Aish in 101 matches.
