What JaNa Said About the Breakup

Followers of Craig and Rodriguez speculated that they had split when Craig over the weekend suddenly unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram and removed most traces of him from her feed. This happened shortly after Craig and Rodriguez had posted together as they attented a party.

In the few days that followed, several of their “Love Island USA” Season 6 cast mates had also unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram.

On July 29, Craig addressed the breakup with a post on her Instagram story.

“Hi my loves. Thank you for all your love & support. It means the world to me. As you know, Kenny and I are no longer together,” Craig’s message read. “Please know that I have seen all the breakup theories and none have matched up to how terrible, disgusting and disappointing it truly is.”

She continued, “Discovering that someone you loved isn’t who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn’t been genuine since day one has been truly devastating. Thank you for respecting my privacy and please know as a child of God, I will always be okay.”

Shortly after Craig posted her statement, Rodriguez addressed the breakup on his own Instagram story, calling the past few days “incredibly difficult.”

“I’ve been quietly sitting with a lot of emotions and doing my best to process everything privately,” he wrote. “Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.”

Rodriguez added that he’ll always be grateful for the time he and Craig shared and the memories they created.

“I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa’s path forward brings her nothing but happiness,” he concluded.

Craig appeared to take issue with Rodriguez’s statement when she addressed him on her Instagram moments later.

“@kennyrodriguez stfu you manipulative liar,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!! My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off.”

Leah Kateb, a fellow Season 6 cast member and one of Craig’s closest friends from the show, weighed in on the breakup as well.

Kateb re-shared Craig’s second message on her Instagram story and tagged Rodriguez, adding, “Put a sock in it ChatGPT head—. Tell the truth for once! Racist, clout/money hungry and a scammer since DAY 1!!!!” She also accused Rodriguez of painting an inaccurate picture of what happened.

“Dw, our Nay is blessed & highly favored,” Kateb also wrote.

In addition, “Love Island USA” Season 6 winner Serena Page wrote on her Instagram story, “Lets all remember this is not a show and someones actual feelings. It may be tea for yall but thats not the case for us. Yall already know how im coming behind JaNa, and TRUST so does he.”

Other Season 6 alums showed public support for Craig as well, including Liv Walker, Kaylor Martin and Kendall Washington. Most of the “Love Island USA” Season 6 cast, as well as the show’s host Ariana Madix, have unfollowed Rodriguez on Instagram.

JaNa and Kenny’s ‘Love Island’ journey

Craig and Rodriguez were a fan-favorite couple during “Love Island USA” Season 6, which streamed on Peacock last summer. Craig was an original cast member and later coupled up with Rodriguez, who arrived on the show as a bombshell midway through the season.

After Casa Amor, he coupled up with islander Catherine Marshall. However, he later left viewers, and some of his fellow islanders, stunned when he sobbed on national television, telling Craig he wanted her back.

Craig and Rodriguez solidified their relationship and ended up coming in third place. They had been together since the show ended in July 2024, and the two are currently appearing on the spinoff series, “Love Island: Beyond the Villa,” currently streaming on Peacock. The show, which follows multiple Season 6 stars as they navigate life and relationships in the real world, premiered July 13.

Episode 4 of “Beyond the Villa,” the first to air since Craig and Rodriguez’s announcement, will arrive on Thursday, July 31. So far, the season has addressed some tension between the couple due to Rodriguez not wanting to move in with Craig.

Since reports of their split first surfaced over the weekend, Craig has removed photos of Rodriguez from her Instagram and unfollowed him. Pictures and videos with Craig are still up on his page.
