The Aussie music industry is mourning the loss of rocker Peter McFarlane this week.
The musician died on Saturday, with his heartbroken wife paying tribute on his Facebook account, calling him the the ”love of my life”.
It was revealed via tributes from two of McFarlane’s musician mates that he had suffered a stroke after having one previously.

In a status shared with his fans on his Facebook account, McFarlane’s wife wrote, “Hello, my darling Peter passed away yesterday afternoon.”
“I was with him and held him until he went. No words will every express how feel at the moment. He was and will always be the love of my life.
“Thank you all for the love and respect that you had for my boy. I didn’t want to come on here but you guys were not on my fb. Totally broken hearted.”

A follower remarked underneath: “Peter was a great drummer and he had a style about him that was so professional..he will sadly be missed by all of the muso community on the GC.”
Throughout his career, the musician played for Finch, later known as Contraband, and the band Swanee, which starred Jimmy Barnes’ brother John Swan.
Swan shared a tribute on his Facebook account, writing: “Just had some terrible news my old mate and drummer Peter McFarlane is ready to go after another stroke.”

“Spoke to Kerry his wife 25 years. These times are tough but I’m honoured to have been a part of their journey. Count me in Peter Be at peace brother x John.”
Bob Spencer also shared tribute, writing: “RIP to Peter McFarlane, Finch and Contraband drummer, who passed away last night, having fought back after a debilitating stroke a little while back, only to succumb to another a few days ago.
“My thoughts are with his stoic wife, Kerry. Vale! X.”
