Ruben Amorim sent a clear-cut message to every single Manchester United player who reported to pre-season training under him at the Carrington training complex.
The initial wave of first-team Manchester United players returned to Carrington on Monday last week for Ruben Amorim’s first pre-season training at Old Trafford.
The second phase of United players also arrived at the Carrington training complex later in the same week, with Amorim putting his players through their paces.
Amorim arrived as United manager during the 2024-25 Premier League campaign after the former Sporting CP head coach replaced Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The 40-year-old Portuguese coach faced a mammoth task when he succeeded Erik ten Hag last November and oversaw a dysfunctional campaign for the Red Devils.
However, Amorim has now been afforded the opportunity to work closely with his United players and put down the foundation for his long-term vision at Old Trafford.

The second week of Manchester United’s pre-season training at Carrington kicked off ahead of the forthcoming tour of Europe and the United States this summer.
United will face Leeds United at the Strawberry Arena in Solna on Saturday before leaving Sweden and heading to the States for their next three pre-season matches.
Ruben Amorim knows United have a tough run of Premier League fixtures to open the 2025-26 season at Old Trafford and his pre-season preparations are vital.
Adam Marshall revealed on Manchester United’s official website what happened in the second week of pre-season training, including the different drills that took place.
Following a “round-robin tournament” to end the training, Amorim addressed his United players and told them “thank you” before they returned to the main building.
Adam Marshall said that Amorim’s actions showed how much “this was another” sign that showed how much he ‘valued’ the session ahead of United’s pre-season tour.
Ruben Amorim is building essential morale with Man Utd players ahead of the summer tour and the 2025-26 Premier League season
There is no denying that the Red Devils require a much-needed momentum boost after their woeful 2024-25 season, which saw Erik ten Hag sacked as United manager.
United endured their worst finish in the Premier League era after the Red Devils could only limp to a 15th-place position in the table under Amorim.
The Red Devils also fell short of salvaging a part of their season with major silverware, with United losing the Europa League final to Tottenham in May.
But Amorim is the man backed by Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe to turn the ship around at United and the ex-Sporting CP boss is establishing vital rapport with his players.
