Two Metallica fans in Australia got a lifetime ban from the Optus Stadium in Perth for their antics during a performance from the iconic heavy metal group.

PerthNow reports that Beau William Loch Rollings, 20, and Rory Hugh Culbert, 23, jumped a safety barrier and climbed up the central tower inside the stadium during Metallica’s Nov. 1 concert.

The pair were between 10 and 50 meters high for about 20 minutes during the show before they climbed down.

Once on the ground they were arrested by venue staff and police while thousands of people in the audience watched.

Police later seized the pair’s phones, which contained video footage of their climb up the tower.

They were both charged with trespass by summons and pleaded guilty at their hearing. Rollings was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $308.80 in court costs, Billboard said. Culbert was fined a similar amount.

As a result of their actions, Rollings and Culbert have been permanently banned from the stadium.

Magistrate Ruth Dineen called their actions “an incredibly stupid thing to do and a good way to ruin your night out.”

Defense lawyer Rachael Gemmell said climbing the tower was “just stupid behavior” and that being charged had been a “sobering experience” for the two men.
