Yaroslav Amosov proved he’s ready to test the UFC welterweight top 15 earlier tonight (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) at UFC Vegas 112 LIVE on ESPN+ from inside UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, after the former Bellator MMA champion debuted with a first-round submission (anaconda choke) over veteran gatekeeper Neil Magny.
There were some rumors swirling early Saturday night that this welterweight clash was actually canceled, but luckily those rumblings proved false. UFC fight fans were excited to see what Amosov could do under the bright lights of the Octagon so it was important to keep this fight on the last UFC card of the year (and the ESPN era). Magny was trying to play spoiler, which he’s done many times before.
It didn’t take Amosov long to score a slick takedown and start pressing Magny from top control. Magny has fought some of the best grapplers the UFC’s welterweight division has to offer, but he’s not the greatest off his back. This allowed Amosov time to implement his offense and find the chance to lock up a tight anaconda choke. Magny fought valiantly, but the UFC veteran eventually succumbed to the pressure and was forced to tap.
