Michael Maguire has reportedly given former Melbourne Storm winger Kane Bradley a train and trial contract after he was seen at a Brisbane Broncos pre-season session. The 25-year-old winger filled in for Craig Bellamy’s side on a number of occasions in 2025, but mainly played in the Queensland Cup where he scored six tries in 11 appearances.

And according to Zero Tackle, Bradley has followed a number of Storm players out the door at the end of 2025 having been pictured at Brisbane Broncos training. Bradley is reportedly on a train and trail contract at the Broncos with Maguire looking to strengthen the wing position after a number of departures.

Selwyn Cobbo left the Broncos to join the Dolphins in 2026, while Jesse Arthars is off contract at the end of next season. And Maguire appears to have made steps to secure his stocks in the position with Bradley undertaking his pre-season in Brisbane.

Bradley would be the second Melbourne Storm player to have made the move north in 2026 after Grant Anderson left the club. Anderson was a popular player at the Storm having filled in at centre and wing on 36 occasions across four seasons.

Anderson ended up being dropped during the Storm’s run to the NRL grand final, which had some fans questioning the move from Bellamy. The 26-year-old will be fighting for a backline position at the NRL premiers with the likes of Josiah Karapani and Deine Mariner.

Bellamy has dealt with a number of departures since the Storm’s NRL grand final loss to the Broncos with fan favourite Ryan Papenhuyzen leaving the club with doubts surrounding his NRL future. Jonah Pezet joined the Eels, before he makes his way to the Broncos in 2027.

Forward Nelson Asofa-Solomona exited the club. And second-rower Eli Katoa won’t play next year due because of the horrific head knocks he suffered while playing for Tonga. But of the biggest concerns for Bellamy would be the potential exit of Nick Meaney after the back revealed he had been talking with the Perth Bears as he comes off contract at the end of next season.

Nick Meaney on Perth Bears’ radar

The Perth Bear will join the NRL in 2027 and recently announced their first two big signings, which included Penrith forward Liam Henry. And it has been confirmed Meaney is on their radar with the 28-year-old able to cover the centre and fullback role.

Although Meaney admitted he will put his family first when it comes to the decision. “We’ve chatted with them (Perth) and obviously had a lot of conversations with Melbourne,” Meaney said with his current deal ending at the end of next season.

“I’m still going through the process at the moment and what’s best for my future and my family as well, because I’ve got to take care of two young kids and put them on the right path. Hopefully in the near future we’ll have something set in stone, whether that’s here or there or somewhere else as well, I’m not sure yet.

“I’m always open to anything, but I’ve loved my time here at Storm. It’s been great and I’m looking forward to next year.” The Storm will most likely look to throw an improved deal at Meaney to keep the star in Melbourne considering the surprise exits that have gone on at the club since losing the NRL grand final.
