Three community AFL clubs and facilities from across New South Wales have been successful in Round 2 of the 2025 NSW Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grant.

Marrar Football Netball Club and Nelson Bay AFC were awarded grants, alongside North Dalton Park Regional Sports Centre which is home to the Wollongong Lions on the South Coast.

The grant sees all three recipients share in over $640,000 in funding, to be dedicated to lighting upgrades across the three club facilities.

The AFL has also pledged another $50,000 each to Marrar and Nelson Bay’s lighting projects.

Round 2 of the 2025 NSW Clubgrants Category 3 Infrastructure Grant received over 200 applications, with only 25 of those awarded funding to improve their facilities.

Head of AFL NSW/ACT Andrew Varasdi said: “This is a fantastic outcome for community AFL in New South Wales, and for the communities that these clubs serve.

“Improved facilities are critical to creating welcoming environments, and these projects across the Riverina, the Hunter and South Coast will help ensure our clubs can continue to grow a diverse playing base and deliver lasting benefits for their communities.”
