When the One UI 8.5 beta program went live, Samsung said it would be available in six countries. However, only four of those countries got access in the first phase a couple of weeks ago. The second phase is now kicking off, bringing the beta to the remaining countries: India and Poland.
The first One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with firmware version ending ZYLH and has a download size of over 4GB. This is the same firmware that will be released as the second beta update in countries like Germany, South Korea, UK, and the USA. Besides all the new One UI 8.5 features and improvements, it also fixes a lot of bugs, reliability issues, and performance issues found in the first One UI 8.5 beta update that was released a few days ago.
One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 and brings a lot of new and improved features, including more lock screen clock customizations, a new UI design language for stock apps, improved Galaxy AI-powered image editing, Bluetooth Auracast improvements, Storage Share, Quick Share suggestions, a new design for Samsung Internet, and Theft Protection.
