With a few months to go before the 2026 World Baseball Classic, Team USA’s roster is starting to take shape. After commitments from stars like Aaron Judge and Paul Skenes, Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper became the latest superstar to join Team USA.
Harper, 33, made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday.
In his announcement, Harper noted it won’t be the first time he’s worn Team USA across his chest. He represented America back in 2008 and 2009, when he played for the under-18 U.S. national team.

Harper is much older now, though he remains a productive player. Last season, Harper hit .261/.357/.487, with 27 home runs, for the Phillies. It was shaping up to be a down year for the slugger early, but he rallied to club 17 home runs in the second half, boosting his end-of-year numbers.
Harper is expected to man first base for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
