The NFL’s Christmas Day lineup is lacking serious holiday magic this year
Christmas Day 2025 is already looking like a bust for the NFL due to injuries and teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
It’s a Christmas miracle! The NFL is gifting football fans with a tripleheader Dec. 25.
The Washington Commanders kick off the Christmas Day slate by hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. Then, get ready for a Midwest showdown when the Detroit Lions travel to take on the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Finally, the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs wrap up the holiday festivities at Arrowhead Stadium.
The contests won’t air on cable, though. Here’s what you should know about each Christmas Day game, including how to watch.
Who plays football on Christmas?
The NFL’s Christmas slate features three games:

Who is announcing the Christmas Day NFL games?
Ian Eagle (CBS) will be the play-by-play announcer for the first matchup between the Commanders and Cowboys. Nate Burleson (CBS) and Matt Ryan (CBS) will be the analysts, and Melanie Collins (CBS) and Sara Walsh (NFL Network) will serve as the sideline reporters.
Then, Eagle’s son, Noah Eagle (NBC Sports), will serve as play-by-play announcer for the Lions-Vikings game. Drew Brees (Fox Sports) will serve as the analyst, while AJ Ross (CBS) and Diana Russini (The Athletic) will be on the sidelines.
According to Front Office Sports, Amazon’s “Thursday Night Football” crew will announce the last Christmas Day game between the Broncos and Chiefs. Al Michaels will be the play-by-play announcer, Kirk Herbstreit will be the analyst and Kaylee Hartung will be the sideline reporter.
Who is performing at halftime on Christmas Day?
Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg will perform the halftime show during the Lions vs. Vikings game on Christmas Day. According to The Providence Journal, Snoop Dogg’s performance will include “chart-topping tracks, holiday spirit, and a diverse roster of special guests.”
Singer Kelly Clarkson will also kick off the Christmas Day slate on Netflix with a special performance of “Underneath the Tree” before the first game at 1 p.m.
