Idris Elba is embracing the James Bond vibe. The Wire star recently visited Madame Tussauds Orlando in Florida, and things took an exciting turn when he decided to pose with the 007 figures.

Idris Elba took to his TikTok to share a video of him posing with James Bond statues. Captioned, “Wifey made me do it…”, it showed the camera panning on every 007 icon with the Bond theme playing in the background.
Elba was seen standing next to Daniel Craig. For the unaware, Craig last played the MI6 agent in No Time to Die (2021). This short clip has sparked rumors of Elba stepping into the shoes of the character in the next Bond film.
In no time, netizens filled the comment section with excitement of the potenial role. One user wrote, “Dear Santa, all I want for Christmas is Idris Elba as James Bond. Please and thank you.” Another one said, “Sir… the way we’ve been asking for this for years is REAL.”
“You would be amazing as James Bond,” commented a third user. A fourth one stated, “IDRIS! DON’T PLAY WITH OUR EMOTIONS LIKE THIS! IS IT HAPPENING OR NAH?!?!?!”
During a Q&A at the Red Sea International Film Festival, Elba opened up about quitting acting in the future (via Daily Mail). He said, “I’m hoping that my fan base as an actor isn’t mad at me, but eventually, I want to transfer to be a director fully.”
The 53-year-old added that he has “been acting for a long time.” He continued, “I love it still, but I think directing allows me to flex slightly different muscles and just be a part of the set in a different way.”
Denis Villeneuve will be directing the next Bond movie. As per Deadline, the director is looking forward to casting a “fresh face” for the central character. Multiple names have been speculated online for the leading role. However, the team is yet to make an annoucement.
