Ever since Kiefer Sherwood signed a 2-year, $3 million contract (AAV $1.5M) with the Vancouver Canucks, which expires at the end of the 2025-26 season, the star power forward has made more of an impact than any other player on the roster, which is why his name keeps appearing on the name of trade list with almost all prominent teams.This is not the first time his name has appeared on the trade list, as his name also came up for the Dallas Stars in place of Tyler Seguin. Sherwood’s potential move has become one of the most-talked-about possible trades ahead of the March 6 deadline, with league insiders confirming that the two teams are currently in talks to trade Sherwood.Meanwhile, Sherwood’s been on a tear this season, scoring 16 goals and 20 points in 36 games. He’s averaging 17:29 of ice-time per game, including in all situations, and he’s landed a whopping 164 hits, almost 100 more than any of his teammates.

NHL Insider Chris Johnston recently wrote a piece on trade destinations, and he is of the view that the Bruins have high possibilities to land Sherwood this season. Johnston stated, “Sherwood is a prototypical Bruin: big, fast and tenacious on the forecheck. As such, he’s viewed as a player who would be a great fit in an organization that is building back up following last year’s reset.”In addition to the Boston Bruins, other teams like the Ottawa Senators, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Philadelphia Flyers have been mentioned in the trade speculation and are currently eyeing to acquire Sherwood. It is also important to note that Sherwood owed just $1.5 million AAV this season and doesn’t have any trade protection.
