Look sharp central Pa., Ron Swanson is coming to town.
Actor, author and comedian Nick Offerman will be in Harrisburg this fall as part of this year’s Harrisburg Book Festival.
Offerman will be in town to promote his latest book, “Little Woodchucks: Offerman Woodshop’s Guide to Tools and Tomfoolery,” co-written with Lee Buchanan.
A special book release event will be held rain or shine at the Harrisburg Senators Baseball Stadium on City Island on Oct. 15 The event promises a conversation with Offerman, a live woodworking demonstration, songs, jokes, and more.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. Seating is general admission; first come, first served.
Tickets are $56 but children under 16 will be allowed free entry as long as they come in with someone who has purchased a ticket. Each ticket includes a signed copy of Offerman’s book. Additional signed copies will available for purchase. There will not be a book signing.
Parking is available on City Island on a first come, first serve basis for $5 cash or $5.50 with a card.
Offerman is best known for playing Ron Swanson on the sitcom “Parks and Recreation.” He has also appeared in “Fargo,” “The Last of Us,” “The Umbrella Academy” and “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning.”
He’s also written several books, including “Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man’s Fundamentals for Delicious Living” and “Good Clean Fun: Misadventures in Sawdust at Offerman Woodshop.”
The Harrisburg Book Festival runs Oct. 15-19 at the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, 1302 N. Third St., Harrisburg. Other authors appearing at this year’s festival include Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie (“Dream Count”), Marie Lu (“Red City”), and Carissa Broadbent (“Daughter of No Worlds”).
