Eleonora Boi, the pregnant wife of former NBA player Danilo Gallinari, has announced that she was attacked by a shark during ‘the worst day of her life’ while swimming at a beach in Puerto Rico.

Boi, 39, reportedly sustained an open wound to her thigh and was treated at a nearby hospital, according to local media. Boi relocated to Puerto Rico with Gallinari after he signed for the Vaqueros de Bayamon earlier this year, after a 14-year stint in the NBA.

Gallinari was drafted by the New York Knicks, but enjoyed one of his best seasons while a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, who won the NBA Championship this year. The NBA Finals were also memorable due to Tyrese Haliburton’s devastating injury, but Gallinari has since started a new chapter in Puerto Rico.

Boi is expecting her third child with Gallinari, whom she married in July 2022. While swimming at the Carolina Resort in Puerto Rico, Boi was attacked by a shark, but has confirmed via social media that she and her unborn baby are safe.

“It was the worst day of my life, maybe my grandmother Nella was right when she said ‘on the seas you traitors’,” Boi wrote on Instagram, along with a photo posted from her hospital bed.
