Boys Basketball Notebook: Frankston’s Brayden Gray takes weekly honor

Frankston’s Brayden Gray has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Boys Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Dec. 29-Jan 3.
Gray averaged 22 points per game as the Indians went 5-0 and won the North Hopkins Tournament. Gray was the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament.
In a 71-53 win over Prairiland, Gray poured in 32 points.
In other outstanding performances in the area last week (nominated by coaches):
Tyler Legacy’s Zyere Ceasar averaged 18.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in three games. Derein Hollman averaged 12.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.
Bishop Gorman’s Jaylon Miles averaged 20.0 points and 6.0 assists in wins over Cumberland Academy and Grace Community. Against state-ranked Grace, Miles had 29 points, five steals, three assists and two rebounds. Carlin Ifeadi averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.
Grace Community’s Brady Luce averaged 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 3.0 assists per game.
Hawkins’ Brayden Givens averaged 17.2 points per game in five games.
Palestine Westwood’s Kavian Bryant averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.3 steals as the Panthers went 3-1 at Tenaha Holiday Hoops. Freshman Kaden Bryant averaged 15.8 points per game.
Mabank senior Luke Carter averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists in four games. Senior Carter Sims averaged 20.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three games.
Cayuga’s Levi Satterwhite averaged 22.8 points as the Wildcats went 5-0. Gunnar Douglas averaged 11.8 points and 14.4 points.
Neches junior Brysn Bartram averaged 12.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game.
