The club has secured the partnership with leading tyre wholesaler Bond International, which will begin in the 2026/27 season and run for three years.

Bond International, also based in Pocklington, sells more than 8.5 million tyres annually and is supporting the club as part of its commitment to community engagement and grassroots sport.

Greg Bond, chief supply chain officer at Bond International, said: “We are proud to be joining the Pocklington RUFC family.

“My father had his first garage just down the road from the club and was always invested in supporting local teams.

“For many years he sponsored the Pocklington football team, so I know he would be excited to branch out into another fantastic sport.

“These local partnerships are a tradition I am proud to uphold.

“Alongside my father’s love of sport, one of our former directors, Bill Hardy, was a long-time player and dedicated supporter of the club, earning himself recognition as the first team’s highest point-scorer of all time – scoring 2,500 points in his 10-year stint at the club.

“His son, Billy Hardy Jr, also represented the club at first team level for many years.

“We are thrilled to honour Bill’s legacy in this way.”

Under the agreement, Bond International’s Churchill Tyres branding will appear on Pocklington RUFC’s match-day shirts, pitch-side advertising, and across club communications.

Churchill Tyres is the company’s in-house tyre brand, produced in high volumes for the UK market.

The sponsorship marks the first official link between Bond International and the rugby club.

Mark Fletcher, chairman of Pocklington RUFC, added: “This is a perfect partnership for us as a traditional, grassroots rugby club based in the heart of the community.

“We’re a rural club with deep local roots and this new venture shows that the team at Bonds genuinely believes in what a club like ours does for the area.

“We rely on our sponsors and the funds they bring to the club every season.

“It’s clear to see, every weekend, that people like being at our club—players and supporters alike.

“They keep an eye on the results from wherever life takes them, that’s the hold PRUFC has on you – it gets in your blood.

“What makes us good isn’t just the support of our fantastic sponsors, it is the camaraderie and togetherness which you find when you walk in our door.

“Bond International has recognised this and we can’t wait to embrace this.

“Next season we will aspire to new levels across our men’s and women’s sides and also in our junior ranks.

“We know the work we have to do and, if we stay true to who we are – homegrown, well-coached and well supported – we’ll be just fine.”

Bond International plans to support the club both through its sponsorship and by attending matches.

The partnership underlines the company’s ongoing support for the community and the importance it places on grassroots sport.
