The Nebraska men’s basketball team will look to continue its historic season Saturday at Indiana.

The Huskers are 15-0, having won 19 straight games going back to last season to set a school record. They also are ranked No. 10 in The Associated Press Top 25, the team’s highest ranking in 60 years.

Coach Fred Hoiberg talked Thursday about what has allowed the Huskers to have such a successful season so far.

“I think the biggest thing is composure … and our guys have really done a good job of staying with it. When teams have gone on runs … there was no head hanging and once we got moving again, I was really pleased,” Hoiberg said. “Our guys just keep swinging. They keep going. Even when things are looking a little bit dire out there on the floor … that’s a sign of great leadership.”

The Huskers will be tested against a 12-3 Indiana team that has won its last four games by double digits. The Hoosiers are 3-1 in the Big Ten and have not lost at home this year.

This weekend marks the third official away game for the Huskers this season, leaving a small sample size for how the team competes on the road. The team also has played three neutral-site games.

Hoiberg said the team has capitalized on creating early leads when away from Lincoln, giving the Cornhuskers something to fall back on.

“One thing we’ve been very fortunate with is … we’ve gotten off to good starts on the road,” Hoiberg said. “We built a 14-point lead at Illinois, at Ohio State, and then you have a cushion when a team does go on a run, which invariably will happen, especially when you’re playing in an opponent’s gym.”

The game Saturday is at 11 a.m. CT and will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
