Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman doesn’t buy Daniel Cormier’s recent prediction about a potential wrestling match with Jon Jones.

Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones reunited on the set of ALF Reality 3, a Russian MMA reality television series filmed in Thailand. Cormier and Jones competed opposite each other as coaches on the upcoming season of the show.

According to Cormier and Jones, tensions remain high between the two-time UFC rivals. Jones went as far as labeling Cormier a ‘d—head’ who mistreated his fighters and fellow coaches during the show.

Cormier has entertained the possibility of clashing with Jones in a wrestling match under the Real American Freestyle promotional banner. The former two-division champion promised he would ’10-0′ Jones if they met on the mats.

But a former UFC champion believes Cormier shouldn’t bite off more than he can chew.

Kamaru Usman: ‘Jon is no slouch’ in wrestling the likes of Daniel Cormier

In a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, Kamaru Usman warned Cormier not to get too confident in his chances in a potential wrestling match against Jones.

“It’s not that simple,” Usman said of Cormier’s chances against Jones in a wrestling match.

“I don’t think because Jon Jones never went to Division I, and had accolades and all of that, people sleep on just how talented Jon Jones is. I’ve watched Jon Jones decide, ‘I’m gonna wrestle,’ and when he decided to wrestle, he made people look bad. This man is just a freak athletic talent.

“DC and Jones fought. I understand that’s just fighting, that’s MMA but when it came down to that wrestling exchange,” Usman continued. “Jon is no slouch. This ain’t going to be just that easy.”

Jones and Cormier could potentially compete in either a boxing match or a wrestling competition in the near future. In the meantime, ALF Reality 3 will likely get a wide-ranging viewing audience as they watch Jones and Cormier’s reunion.
