McVay was hired in January of 2017 as the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams. At the time of the five-year deal, he was 30, making him the youngest head coach in NFL history.

After reaching a Super Bowl in just his second season, the Rams realized they had made a great decision in hiring McVay. In 2022, McVay signed a massive extension through the 2026 season, worth approximately $14 million per year.

Since taking over as the head coach for the Los Angeles Rams, Sean McVay has put together an impressive 92-57 record over nine seasons.
In McVay’s second year with the Rams, he won a career-high 13 games and made it all the way to the Super Bowl before losing to the New England Patriots.

McVay has had only one losing season in his tenure with the Rams, in 2022, when the team went 5-12. That season, Matthew Stafford and former Rams receiver Cooper Kupp missed a combined 18 games.
