There are many sounds of an Australian summer .. from the buzz of flies and mosquitoes to the zap of the bug killer trying to take them out.
One bug we don’t want to zap at this time of year is a national favourite for many – the christmas beetle.
The tree and all the decorations have been packed down by now .. but Christmas beetles don’t know that.
They’re still around .. or are they?
Once again this year the christmas beetle count project has been underway .. and to check in on the most recent data, Bern Young was joined by Associate Professor Tanya Latty – entomologist from the University of Sydney .
