This is the rubber match between Green Bay and Chicago after splitting the season series. The Bears won the division, capturing their first NFC North title since the 2018 season. Green Bay limps into the postseason having dropped its final four games to close out the regular season, but may have received the best draw possible in a familiar opponent like the Bears.

Quarterback Jordan Love is set to return from a concussion that sidelined him during the last meeting with Chicago in Week 16. Love missed the last two games of the season due to the injury. Without Micah Parsons leading the defense, they’ve looked different down the stretch of the season, but they can turn all that around with a wild-card win over their biggest rival.

Chicago is riding high after finishing first in its division in Ben Johnson’s first year as head coach. It marks the first NFC North title, double-digit win (11-6) season and playoff appearance for the Bears since Matt Nagy led the team there in 2018. Quarterback Caleb Williams had a breakthrough year, passing for 3,942 yards to set a new franchise single-season passing record. The Bears’ sixth-best offense (total yards) will need to be at its most explosive for Chicago to notch its first playoff win since the 2010 season.

The Bears opted to go for it on fourth-and-1 from the Green Bay 6-yard line, needing a touchdown to make it a one-score game.

Facing a first-and-goal from the 1-yard line after Christian Watson’s fumble, Jordan Love threw an incomplete pass followed by two rushes for no gain by Josh Jacobs.

After the 2-minute warning, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur opted to go for it on fourth-and-goal, already gifted great field position by the Bears. Love rewarded that decision by connecting with Romeo Doubs on an out route at the goal line for a touchdown.

With 1:56 left in the second half after the kickoff, the Bears have a chance to cut into this Packers lead.

Facing a gift from the Bears after they failed to convert a fourth down, the Packers go for it on fourth-and-1 from the Chicago 23-yard line.

Jordan Love rolled out and hit a wide-open Christian Watson for the first down. Watson ran down the sideline and leaped for the end zone. However, he lost the ball before crossing the goal line.

Romeo Doubs recovered the ball in the end zone. But since it was fourth down, the Packers got the ball where Watson fumbled at the 1-yard line.

Cole Kmet appeared to have fumbled after a catch on third-and-4. Rome Odunze recovered, however. On replay, the play was ruled as an incompletion.

That gave the Bears another fourth down and head coach Ben Johnson opted to go for it — yet again — on fourth-and-5 from their 32-yard line. But Caleb Williams’ pass attempt to Luther Burden III was tipped at the line by Packers DT Karl Brooks and fell incomplete.

Green Bay takes over at the Bears’ 32-yard line with 5:15 remaining in the first half.
