Washington | Inflation cooled a bit last month as prices for gas and used cars fell, a sign that cost pressures are slowly easing however the decline was unlikely to persuade policymakers to lower interest rates anytime soon.
Consumer prices rose 0.3 per cent in December from the prior month, the Labor Department said on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT), the same as in November.
