Former NRL young gun Curtis Scott will fight allegations he drunk drove before leaving the scene of a crash in Sydney’s south.
The former Melbourne Storm and Canberra Raiders centre allegedly drove while over the legal limit when he crashed his ute into a number of trees on Kennedy Crescent, Bonnet Bay on June 15, 2024.
Police allege the 28-year-old then left the scene and he was later arrested at his home nearby and taken to Sutherland Hospital.
Some six months later, in December, Mr Scott was issued a number of Court Attendance Notices.
He did not appear before the Sutherland Local Court on Thursday where his matter was briefly mentioned.
Solicitor Robert Candelori acting on his behalf entered not guilty pleas to the charges.
The now boxer has been charged with drive vehicle under influence of alcohol, drive with middle range PCA, and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm).
Police said in a statement they will allege Mr Scott drove with a mid-range PCA which is anywhere between 0.08 and 0.15. The legal limit is 0.05.
It’s also understood that Mr Scott has had his driving licence suspended.
The former young gun has not played rugby league professionally since 2021, and he has moved instead to a career in combat sports, including boxing.
He is next due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on March 12.
