The AFL and Prime Video have released a landmark global media partnership, announcing the release of a new four-part docuseries, Final Siren: Inside the AFL.

Produced by the Emmy Award-winning Box To Box Films, the organisation behind the global phenomenon Formula 1: Drive to Survive, the series is set for a worldwide premiere on 27 February 2026, streaming across 240 countries and territories.

Emphasising the importance of the project in the league’s international expansion, AFL Executive General Manager Customer, Commercial and Technology, Bec Haagsma, said: “Final Siren is an important asset as the AFL continues to grow its reach, connecting more people with our game both here in Australia and internationally.”

Executive Producer at Box To Box, Hillary Olsen, added that while the sport is uniquely Australian, the themes of honour, pressure, and the personal cost of elite competition are global.

The program offers exceptional, behind-the-scenes access to the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, focusing on six specific clubs: Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, GWS GIANTS, Fremantle, Gold Coast SUNS, and the Brisbane Lions.

The narrative provides a character-driven look at some of the league’s most recognisable figures, including Melbourne premiership captain Max Gawn, the Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli, and GWS captain Toby Greene.

A major pillar of the series is its focus on the Brisbane Lions’ historic “back-to-back” premiership run. Viewers are given a front-row seat to the internal dynamics of the club through Dayne Zorko and Cam Rayner as they navigated a 47-point Grand Final victory over Geelong at a capacity MCG.

Additionally, the series captures the emotional final chapter of Fremantle icon and dual Brownlow Medallist Nathan Fyfe, following the champion through his 16th and final season.

The series is a joint production between Amazon MGM Studios, Box To Box, and GoodThing Productions. All four episodes will be released simultaneously, timed to build maximum commercial momentum ahead of the opening round of the 2026 Toyota AFL Premiership Season on 5 March.
