LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Nevada Women’s Tennis took on LMU in its first match of the 2026 season, falling to the Lions in a close battle, 4-3.

The day started in doubles action where the Pack came away with two victories to earn the doubles point.

The team of Kennedy Robinson and Amahée Charrier defeated Lidia Gonzalez and Sofia Peronavi, 6-3. The duo of Silvia-Maria Costache and Marlene Foerster followed it up by defeating Anastasia Bozava and Ada Piestrzynska, 6-4. Kariman Buqai and Petra Janigova led Camilia Samel-Druz and Kim-Michaela Zahraj, 6-5, when the Pack clinched the point.

Nevada came away with only two wins in singles play. Foerster swept Perovani, 7-6, 6-1. Wiem Boubaker rallied to win two straight sets after losing the first against Samel-Druz, 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.

Costache fell to Zahraj (6-1, 6-3), Janigova dropped her match to Bozava (6-4, 7-6), Robinson fell to Piestrzynska (6-1, 6-2) and Charrier lost to Gonzalez (7-6, 6-3).

Nevada will remain in Southern California to face UC Irvine on Sunday at 11 a.m.
