Coronation Street star Tanisha Gorey has shared a major life update, in a heartwarming social media post. The actor, who plays Asha Alahan on the soap, revealed her recent engagement to her partner Lucas Whelan.

Taking to Instagram yesterday (17 January), Gorey shared a collection of photos with the caption “brb still crying” alongside a tear, ring and heart emoji. The snaps included a heart-shaped cake, iced with the words “just engaged”, which was surrounded by Polaroids of the happy couple.

The post also featured various pictures of Gorey showing off her stunning new ring, as well as a special glimpse at the proposal set-up.

In one photo, Gorey is in a bedroom, holding a large bouquet of flowers. The ceiling is covered in heart-shaped balloons, while the balloons letters behind her spell out “I love you”.

The comment section was filled with congratulatory messages from fans and Gorey’s Corrie co-stars.
