JOEY LUSSICK has retired from rugby league at the age of just 30.
The Australian hooker has made the decision following his release from Parramatta Eels at the end of last season.
Lussick played in Super League for Salford Red Devils (2018-20) and St Helens (2022-23).
He appeared in two major final defeats while with Salford, the 2019 Grand Final and 2020 Challenge Cup final.
The only trophy successes of Lussick’s career came in his year and a half at Saints, coming off the bench in both their 2022 Grand Final triumph over Leeds Rhinos and then their subsequent World Club Challenge victory against Penrith Panthers.
Lussick returned to Australia in July 2023 for a second spell with Parramatta, where he totalled 37 appearances. Before joining Salford, he also played one NRL game for Manly Sea Eagles.
