ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. (CBS12) — The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) had an interesting call when they were asked to help remove an unexpected guest from a backyard pool in a St. Augustine home.

Bodycam footage from the incident shows a deputy skillfully wrangling an alligator that had made itself comfortable by sunbathing in the pool.

Residents of the home remarked on how the deputy wrangled the alligator, humorously noting, “Florida grown at its finest.”

While the alligator seemed less than thrilled about having its pool time cut short and the ride in the patrol car, the deputy ensured it was safely secured.

SJSO said that the alligator was buckled in for its journey and later relocated to a nearby pond, away from human activities.
