Angus Crichton has reportedly agreed to a bombshell code switch in a bid to play for the Wallabies at the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the Roosters, Kangaroos and NSW star will play in the NRL in 2026 before taking up a one-year deal with Rugby Australia in 2027.
Crichton was a schoolboys rugby star and many of his best friends are in the 15-man game.

RA is yet to confirm the deal but Crichton will play for the Waratahs and is being viewed as a potential inside centre or loose forward.
“I haven’t played the sport in 10 years, so I’d be interested to see where I stack up,” he said recently.
“It would be a different path, something that I’m open to.”

Crichton will follow fellow Roosters guns Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Joseph Manu in switching to rugby.
The 29-year-old spoke about the temptation of joining them in September.
“I think I’m getting to the age now where I’m getting a bit older, and I want to do what’s right for my family. I’ve got to try and set myself up the best I can,” Crichton said.

“Obviously, I love the club (Roosters) and am grateful for what I’ve been able to achieve.
“Rugby league’s given me everything I have, so these are all just scenarios that you’re tossing up, but I haven’t locked anything in yet.”
