HOLLYWOOD (KABC) — An actress who’s spent half her life in front of the camera celebrated a very Hollywood recognition.

Rachel McAdams was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday.

She’s appeared in cultural favorites like “The Notebook” and “Mean Girls,” and has been nominated for both an Oscar and a Tony.

Actor Domhnall Gleeson and director Sam Raimi were on hand to offer kind words during the ceremony.

McAdams emotionally thanked her parents, as well as several actors and actresses she credited with guiding her throughout the years.

“My beloved Diane Keaton took me under her wing like I was her own daughter. She taught me that no matter how long you’ve been doing this, you have to leave everything you’ve got on the table. Each performance, you must muster up as much love as you possibly can and then you’ll only feel like a dumb dumb idiot half the time in life,” McAdams remembered.

Rachel’s newest film is Raimi’s horror-thriller, “Send Help.” It will be in theaters Jan. 30.
