Sennheiser has announced the RS 275 TV Headphones bundle, a wireless audio system purpose-built for watching TV without disturbing others. The package combines the HDR 275 headphones with the BTA1 digital transmitter, addressing a common frustration: as TVs get thinner, their built-in speakers get worse, but turning up the volume isn’t always an option.

The system transmits via Auracast, powered by the LC3 Bluetooth codec, to reduce audio delay and latency that plagues many wireless headphones when watching videos. Auracast also allows multiple listeners to connect to the same transmitter, so you and your partner could each wear your own Auracast-compatible headphones or earbuds while watching the same show.

The Auracast transmitter allows multiple listeners to connect simultaneously.

The transmitter includes multiple input options to work with virtually any entertainment setup: a combination optical and 3.5mm port, plus HDMI ARC for modern TVs and receivers. It’s powered via USB Type-A from your TV or a wall adapter, and includes pass-through USB-C charging for the headphones. Physical buttons on the unit handle input switching and sound modes, including virtual surround sound and enhanced speech clarity for dialogue-heavy content.

Sennheiser claims the RS 275 offers up to 50 meters of wireless range, and the headphones also support Bluetooth Classic connectivity so that you can pair them directly with smartphones and tablets.

When it comes to comfort, Sennheiser says the headphones weigh about as much as a TV remote control and feature breathable fabric ear cushions to prevent the sweaty ears that come with binging an entire season of Stranger Things. Battery life is rated at up to 50 hours on a single charge, and both the ear cushions and battery are user-replaceable. The headphones also feature large, textured physical buttons for volume, power, and call handling, which means you won’t need to fumble for touch controls in a dark living room.

The HDR 275 are lightweight headphones with physical controls.

The Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app unlocks additional features, including transparency mode, left-right balance adjustment, custom EQ settings, hearing profiles, and device-type audio modes. There’s also a noise suppression mode that reduces hiss and converts audio to mono, which Sennheiser says is particularly useful for classic movies and older TV shows.

The RS 275 TV Headphones bundle will be available for pre-order on February 3, 2026, for $299.95. The BTA1 TV Transmitter will also be sold separately for $129.95, which could be useful if you already own compatible Auracast headphones and want to add the transmitter to your setup.

A retail exclusive version called the RS 255 will be available without the headphone stand at an unspecified price.
