Muratalla (23-0, 17 KOs) was upgraded to IBF world champion this past June following Vasiliy Lomachenko’s retirement from the sport. He captured the IBF interim belt with a unanimous decision win over Zaur Abdullaev in May.

Cruz (6-0, 3 KOs) locked in his mandatory position with a one-sided stoppage victory over Hironori Mishiro in June. The 2020 Olympic gold medalist is considered to be one of the best amateurs of recent times and now looks to win his first world title.

In the night’s co-feature, Khalil Coe (10-1-1, 8 KOs) battles Jesse Hart (31-3, 25 KOs) in a light heavyweight contest. Coe, who avenged his lone defeat by stopping Manuel Gallegos this past May in Mexico, tipped the scales more than seven pounds over the 175-pound limit at Friday’s official weigh-in. Hart is a two-time title challenger at super middleweight.

Elsewhere on the card, Israil Madrimov (10-2-1, 7 KOs) returns to action for the first time since suffering back-to-back defeats at the hands of Terence Crawford and Vergil Ortiz Jr. He faces Luis David Salazar (20-1, 7 KOs).

The Muratalla vs. Cruz fight card begins at 8 p.m. ET on DAZN, with main event ring walks expected around 11 p.m. ET.

Good combination for Hart as Coe was trying to break the gap. He’s had the better of the first minute. Coe is struggling to break the gap and land clean. Nice left hook connects for Coe just after the halfway mark. A lot of holding is going on. Hart is holding every opportunity he gets. Hard left hook lands for Coe. Into the final minute, Coe is on his way to adding another 10 points to his tally. More holding. Hart looks fatigued. The stoppage is there for Coe with a sustained attack. The crowd is booing.
