JAXON Evans will take part in the Tim Miles Memorial Race aboard none other than the late Kiwi’s own wings-and-slicks car.

Evans was invited by the Miles family to drive the Swift DB4 Formula Atlantic. It was once upon a time raced by Jos Verstappen, father of Formula 1 superstar Max, and was purchased by Miles in 2024.

Miles tragically passed away last July.

In his honour will be a Formula Atlantic race this weekend at Highlands as part of the NAPA 70th New Zealand Grand Prix festivities.

“I’m super honoured to even be asked to drive the car,” said Evans, who will co-drive with Walkinshaw TWG Racing’s Ryan Wood in the 2026 Supercars enduros.

“It’s something completely new to me, but I knew Tim had a lot of fun driving it so I’m sure I will be the same – though I am hoping I fit!

“Being back in New Zealand is always a pleasure and to go back to Highlands is especially cool.

“Having family and friends here together, making a weekend of it, is going to be pretty special too.”

Another former Supercars full-timer in Will Davison will appear on the NZGP support card in TA2.

The headline act will be the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Trophy field, among which is Wood himself.
