The NFL draft is a little less than three months away, but the mock drafts will be a constant flow. For the Arizona Cardinals, it is an exercise in scenarios and needs and more.

One of the biggest questions the Cardinals have in this offseason is what they will do at quarterback. Kyler Murray seems to be on the way out. As much statistical success that Jacoby Brissett had, he went 1-11 last year and was 0-for-6 in high-leverage, game-winning scenarios. He is 2-15 when starting in his last two seasons and 20-45 in his career. The free agent quarterbacks are not the answer and they have the third pick in the draft when only one quarterback is worth taking at the top of the draft.

However, in a new three-round mock draft from Draft Wire’s Curt Popejoy, the Cardinals get a quarterback on Day 2, and maybe it could work.

Round 1: Miami EDGE Rueben Bain Jr.

Bain might not look good with his measurables, something we will see as the combine approaches, but he is a monster disruptor. He had 9.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss for Miami, who had an incredible defense. The Cardinals need impact defenders off the edge. I doubt anyone would complain about that pick.

Round 2: Georgia OT Monroe Freeling

Do the Cardinals need offensive linemen? Yes. They have questions at at least three positions. Freeling could slide into the lineup at right taxckle.

Round 3: LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier

Before the season, some felt he could be the No. 1 overall pick. That didn’t happen and LSU’s season was a bit of a disaster, but the talent is there. It would be at least something to think about.
