Jannik Sinner spoke to Jim Courier post-match.
On handling Shelton’s 232km/h serve, and his speed and power around the court:
I’m not good at mathematics, so thanks for telling me. I don’t know… it’s just instinct. You know, it’s not always the power that matters. The serves I can handle are a little bit closer to my body. So it’s slightly easier, but it’s a completely different service. Also, [he’s a] lefty, you know – we don’t have many lefties in our game. So it’s definitely one of the toughest challenges to return his serve.

On how he has recovered from his troubles in the heat last Friday:
I was struggling. We go day-by-day. I had a great win a couple of days ago against [a] fellow Italian [Luciano Darderi], which is gives you a confidence boost. Today I felt like I was moving again a little bit better. I feel stronger, physically, again. I’m very happy. Now to be in the semis again, I’m very happy. Of course, we all know what challenge I’m up to, and I’m looking forward to it.
On facing Novak Djokovic again:
These are the moments why you practise for, you wake up in the morning and you just look forward to play, hopefully a good match. You have to play at your best. I’m looking forward to it. But also in the past, I had great lessons. It doesn’t really matter if you win, it improves you as a player and as a person. We are still lucky to have Novak here playing incredible tennis with his age. We play for you guys, but we also play for us. Hopefully, it’s going to be a great, great battle out here.
