Esther Maher made an impact last Friday as she was new to the Gunnedah-based Twilight Women’s Social Smash cricket event, with round three taking place at Donnelly Fields.

Maher nabbed three wickets for Peel Power as she played on the same team as her mum Kristina, while Tara Small picked up two scalps for Namoi Ninjas.

Marnee Walters was another standout performer for the Ninjas as she top-scored with 37, having cleared the boundary repeatedly while batting with her mum Meleah.

Leslee Finnerty was the second top scorer of the round as she made 35 for Peel Power, while Beryl McCormack made 34 for Mooki Maidens.

The Ninjas tallied 114 runs to the Gwydir Girls’ 103, and Peel Power amassed 214 before Mooki Maidens replied with 102.

The final round takes place this Friday, with the Ninjas contesting Peel Power while the Gwydir Girls and Mooki Maidens face off.
