New data shows the average wait time for elderly Australians to access home care services almost doubled to 245 days last financial year, while the time it took to get assessed for government-funded support increased to 27 days.
The Productivity Commission data highlights the pressure on the Albanese government to improve access to aged care at the same time it is grappling with cost blowouts on the National Disability Insurance Scheme and trying to reach a public hospital funding deal with the states.
