While Bunnings is usually many Aussies’ go-to for hardware supplies, it also has a huge range of homewares that would rival the likes of Kmart, Fantastic Furniture and IKEA. The retailer has just released a series of walnut tables and they’re going viral on social media.

They’re part of the Astin Sinclair range and the cheapest item is a side table that only costs $19. A Bunnings spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle it’s no surprise why they’ve captured everyone’s attention.

“We know our customers are always on the lookout for stylish pieces at affordable prices, and the Astin Sinclair range delivers just that,” they said.

“It’s a great example of Aussies wanting to choose pieces that bring function, style and value to their home.”

What’s new in Bunnings’ Astin Sinclair range?

One of the items that has left many stunned is the Walnut Harris Console Table.

It’s one metre in length and only costs $49.

Bunnings described it as having a “sleek and modern design” with “softly curved legs and a warm wood look finish”.

Because it’s only 30 centimetres wide, it’s ideal for hallways, living rooms, or behind your sofa.

Brisbane resident Maddison recently bought it and said it was the “perfect” addition to her home.

After posting a video of her styling her new piece of furniture, she was flooded with messages asking where to get it.

“Obsessed with this,” wrote one person.

“$49!!!! No way, I need this,” added another.

“This looks SO good,” said a third.

The console table looks strikingly like Calibre’s walnut console table, which costs more than $600.

There’s also an Astin Sinclair Walnut Harris Side Table for $19 and a Walnut Harris Coffee Table for just $39 in the new range at Bunnings.

Those prices are pretty incredible considering how walnut is a premium type of wood.

But it’s worth mentioning that while walnut is in the name of these products, they’re actually made from MDF, which is typically used in cabinetry.

They simply have a “warm walnut effect wood look finish” on them, according to Bunnings.

Bunnings homewares could rival Kmart’s new range

Kmart recently dropped a new range of furniture that has absolutely lit up social media.

The Aleks Occasional Chair retails for $85 and comes in a rich chocolate velvet colour, which Kmart describes as “a versatile essential for any living or dining space”.

There’s the Set of 2 Walnut Side Tables for $59, which can be used as an end table, bedside tables or an accent piece, with a nesting design to allow you to pair or use separately.

Again, that’s a “sleek walnut finish” rather than being actual walnut.

The Claire Marble-Look Bedside Table also has a “walnut-look ribbed finish”, and costs $65, while the Claire 3 Drawer Chest has a $179 price tag.

The Goldie Compressed Lounge Chair quickly became one of the most popular products thanks to its affordable price of $155.

It looks very similar to the Domo Togo Fireside Chair, which can cost up to $8,625, with the colour most similar to the Kmart version priced at $5,995.

Nicholas Holmes, a home decorator and furniture buyer for Kmart, told Yahoo Lifestyle why this will be very popular across the country.

Accent chairs are no longer just functional seating; they are also statement pieces which elevate the aesthetic of a room,” he said.

“Mixing modern and minimalistic, through materials and colour palette, chairs like the Aleks Occasional Chair or Goldie Compressed Chair are standalone stars in any room.

“Cosy and plush, these new chairs create a focal point in the room while also delivering on comfort.”

These are already available online and in-stores, depending on your location.
