Look how they massacred my boy.
The famous line from the Godfather is ringing true in the ears of many Broncos fans after star fullback Reece Walsh showed off a new look on Thursday.
The 23-year-old has rewound the clock back years to the short-back-and-sides cut he burst onto the scene with.
Walsh showed off his new cut for his own camera on Thursday with his video causing a stir among his social media followers.
Most of Walsh’s fans will need some time to adjust to his sideburns-less Lego melon after his snapback locks were immortalised with iconic photos during the club’s 2025 NRL premiership triumph.
Walsh showed off his “before” and “after look” in a video shared on TikTok which was completed with Bob Marley classic Three Little Birds chirping in the background.
It certainly divided fans.
The clip has 86,000 likes and 1000 comments.
“What. On. Earth,” one TikTok user commented.
One wrote: “Nooooooooooooo”.
Another posted: “No bro, what are you doing man”.
Walsh also showed it off on his Instagram stories, sharing a photo posted by fancy Brisbane cutters Supreme Barber Shop.
Walsh captioned the image “Did a thanggggg” — including a laugh out loud emoji.
Walsh also shared separate images of what appeared to be daughter Leila crying with laughter at the sight of him during a video call.
Walsh captioned the pics “Never seen me with short hair hahah”.
Walsh’s new cut is one of many he has displayed recently.
He began the 2025 season with a flying mullet before switching to the “snapped back locks” he sported as the Broncos rode a fairy tale to win the 2025 NRL Grand Final.
The man known as “Reece Lightning” has been unable to stop shocking fans this off-season after he also dropped jaws with shirtless photos.
The images appeared to show Walsh beefed up with a Marvel character-like rig.
Those images appeared to be AI generated or photoshopped, but Walsh did not confirm the images he shared were fake.
“First day back, definitely looking better than I’m feeling,” he wrote alongside a mirror selfie with his abs even more pronounced and his arms now even bigger.
He then went a step further by uploading an image of himself in the Broncos’ dressing rooms and flexing at the camera.
“Sick of this all chat, IT IS REAL GUYS!,” he captioned the image.
While the photos appear to be altered, Broncos coach Michael Maguire said his star player has returned for pre-season training in pristine shape.
“He has a bit of fun,” Maguire said of the posts.
“It’s nice to see his personality and it keeps everyone entertained but he’s in good shape too, which is good.
“I think he understands he’s got a lot in his game that he can keep getting better at.”
Despite Walsh’s chiselled abs being a myth, the speedster is set to have a massive 2026 after emerging as the NRL’s most exciting and popular player in 2025.
The Broncos are favourites with the bookies to go back-to-back and win consecutive premierships as Walsh realises his potential as the best fullback since Billy Slater.
