Ireland’s Seamus Power drained an eagle on his 18th hole to complete a second-round 66 that kept him in contention at the Farmers Insurance Open on Friday.
Power started with a seven-under-par 65 on the South Course at Torrey Pines in his opening round and stayed hot on day two to move to 13-under.
Playing on the North Course, Power picked up five birdies and that brilliant closing eagle, which offset a bogey on his penultimate hole.
He ended his day four behind Justin Rose, who holds the clubhouse lead on 17-under-par.
The Englishman posted a blistering 10-under 62 on the North Course yesterday, and continued to set the pace with six birdies and an eagle on his way to a second-round 65.
