BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette sophomore guard Caleb Williams received Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week honors when the League office announced weekly honors Monday. Bucknell freshman center Amon Dörries earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week.  
 
Williams earned his first Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Player of the Week award after helping the Leopards go 2-0 with wins over Bucknell (81-79) and American (67-65) last week. He averaged 22.0 points, including a career-high 28 points against the Bison before scoring the game-winner against the Eagles with less than one second remaining in regulation.  
 
Dörries earned his second straight Patriot League Men’s Basketball PenFed Credit Union Rookie of the Week award and third of the season after averaging 26.0 points per game in the Bison’s 1-1 week. The freshman center scored 36 points, the most by a Patriot League rookie in more than 15 years, in a 103-97 double-overtime win over Boston University on Saturday.
 
Army West Point junior guard Ryan Curry, Colgate junior guard Jalen Cox, Lehigh junior guard Nasir Whitlock, Loyola Maryland sophomore guard Braeden Speed and Navy senior center Aidan Kehoe were recognized as honorable mentions for their performances last week.
 
The Patriot League men’s basketball players of the week are selected in a vote by League media members and each school’s men’s basketball athletics communications contacts, who are not eligible to vote for their student-athletes.

*Williams averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds to lead Lafayette to a 2-0 week, including wins against Bucknell (81-79) and American (67-65).
*The sophomore guard scored a career-high 28 points, shooting 7-of-11 from 3-point range, to lead Lafayette to an 81-79 comeback victory against the Bison on Wednesday.
*He scored the game-winning layup with less than one second remaining in regulation in a win at American on Saturday. He finished with 16 points, including four points in the final 38 seconds.
 
PATRIOT LEAGUE PENFED CREDIT UNION MEN’S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

*Dörries averaged 26.0 points on 61% (17-of-28) shooting from the field, including 67% (6-of-9) from 3-point range, to help the Bison split two games last week.
*The freshman center broke a 48-year-old Bucknell freshman scoring record, totaling 36 points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range and 10-of-10 from the free-throw line, in a 103-97 double-overtime win over Boston University. He scored 15 points in the two overtime sessions.
*Dörries scored 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting in Bucknell’s 81-79 loss at Lafayette on Wednesday.
 
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Ryan Curry, Army West Point, Jr., G, Montgomery, N.J./Montgomery
*Curry led the Black Knights to a 2-0 week, averaging 21.5 points by shooting 50% from the floor and 52.9% from 3-point range. He also averaged 5.0 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals. In a 69-68 win over Holy Cross, he scored a season-high 27 points, including the game-winner with 15 seconds remaining in regulation. Curry also scored 16 points in a 67-64 win over Lehigh.
 
Jalen Cox, Colgate, Jr., G, Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola
*Cox averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.5 steals during the Raiders’ 1-1 week. The junior guard scored a career-high 34 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 77-76 overtime loss at Lehigh. He finished with 16 points and eight assists in a 79-74 win against Holy Cross.
 
Nasir Whitlock, Lehigh, Jr., G, Brooklyn Park, Minn./DeLaSalle
*Whitlock averaged 23.5 points on 50% (16-of-32) shooting from the floor and 50% (7-of-14) from 3-point range to help Lehigh go 1-1 last week. He scored 32 points in the Mountain Hawks’ 77-76 overtime win over Colgate for his fifth 30-point performance of the season. The junior guard finished with 15 points in a loss at Army West Point.
 
Braeden Speed, Loyola Maryland, So., G, Phoenix, Ariz./Brophy Prep
*Speed averaged 27.0 points and 3.5 assists to help Loyola Maryland split two games last week. The sophomore guard scored a career-high 30 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists in the Greyhounds’ 77-68 win at American. He scored 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting in a loss at Navy.
 
Aidan Kehoe, Navy, Sr., C, Montvale, N.J./Pascack Hills
*Kehoe matched the Patriot League single-game record for field-goal percentage, going 11-for-11 from the floor to finish with 23 points in the Midshipmen’s 87-71 victory over Loyola Maryland on Saturday. The senior center shot 88% (14-of-16) during Navy’s 2-0 week, which included a 58-50 win at Boston University on Wednesday.
