Nearly one in five Greeks (19%) struggled to keep their homes adequately warm in 2024, Eurostat reported Monday, the highest rate in the European Union.
Bulgaria matched Greece at 19%, followed by Lithuania at 18% and Spain at 17.5%.
Across the EU, 9.2% of the population faced difficulty heating their homes, down from 10.6% in 2023, signaling a slight improvement.
The lowest rates were recorded in Finland (2.7%), Poland and Slovenia (3.3%), and Estonia and Luxembourg (3.6%).
