Sports Mole brings you the latest transfer news and rumours, including Everton joining the race to sign a Middlesbrough midfielder and Sheffield United selling a star man for over £15m.

Everton have reportedly made the decision to join the race to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney.

Having come through the academy system to contribute 10 goals and nine assists from 113 appearances, the 23-year-old is a key player at the Riverside Stadium.

However, Boro seem ready to cash in on the recent England Under-21 international having been prepared to sell to Ipswich Town for £20m before the player rejected a switch to Portman Road.

Nevertheless, as per Football Insider, Everton are one of several clubs who are interested in adding the homegrown talent to their ranks.

Former scout Mick Brown – a regular contributor to the outlet – has suggested that David Moyes wants to sign the player over the coming weeks.

Brown said: “Everton are one of those, because Moysey is looking to strengthen his midfield.

“Given the price involved, Everton feel he is a player who will be worth taking the chance on even if he’s not a cast-iron certainty at this level.

“If things go to plan, he will develop into a top player for them. I think Everton would be a good destination for him, he’s an improvement on what they’ve got long-term and would benefit from playing at that level.”

Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is already on the brink of a transfer to the Toffees in a deal worth between £28m and £29m.

Sheffield United's Anel Ahmedhodzic on July 15, 2025

Meanwhile, Sheffield United have confirmed that they have accepted a bid to sell Anel Ahmedhodzic to Feyenoord.

The Blades publicly acknowledge that they have given the green light to a sale after receiving a “significant” offer.

BBC Sport claims that the centre-back will be moving to the Dutch giants in a deal worth £15.6m.

Ahmedhodzic has spent the last three seasons at Bramall Lane, scoring 12 goals from his 114 appearances in all competitions.

Sheffield United are more than doubling their money on the 26-year-old after they signed him from Malmo for £7m in 2022.

From Feyenoord’s perspective, Ahmedhodzic is viewed as a straight replacement for David Hancko, who has signed for Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Will Lankshear in November 2024.

Staying in the Championship and Oxford United have pulled off a coup by securing a loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur forward Will Lankshear.

After securing a 17th-placed finish in their first season back in the second tier for 25 years, Oxford are ready to make a surprise bid for the top half.

Lankshear represents their most notable addition of the summer transfer window thus far, the 20-year-old having spent the second half of last season at West Bromwich Albion.

Although the England Under-20 international failed to score in 346 minutes for the Baggies, he had already made an impact for Spurs earlier in the campaign with a goal against Galatasaray in the Europa League.

With 26 goals having been scored from 35 games for Spurs Under-21s, too, there are high hopes for Lankshear making an impact at the Kassam Stadium.

Oxford are no strangers to doing business with Spurs having loaned fellow forward prospect Dane Scarlett for the first half of last season.
